Before It Opens
Privacy
This site is deliberately boring about your data, and this page is short because there is almost nothing to disclose.
What we collect
Nothing, actively. Before It Opens is a static website: no accounts, no forms, no comments, no newsletter, no analytics scripts, no advertising trackers, no cookies set by us, and no third-party embeds. Pages are plain HTML and CSS served from our host.
Server logs
Like effectively every website, the server that delivers these pages may keep standard technical logs (IP address, user agent, pages requested, timestamps) for security and operational purposes. We use them for nothing beyond that.
If you email the editors, we will have your email address and whatever you wrote, and we will use them to reply. Stories shared with us are anonymized and composited before they inform any published piece, as described on our about page. If you ask us to delete a correspondence, we will.
External links
Articles link out to external sites — government agencies, industry bodies, and occasionally suppliers. Those sites have their own privacy practices; this policy stops at our edge.
Changes
If our practices ever change — for instance, if we ever add analytics — this page will change first, and the change will be dated.
